Drill Sergeant Candidates learn POSE Running Technique
Investing in our #DrillSergeantCandidates from the very beginning of their time as a Drill Sergeant will inevitably create a snowball effect. Soldiers down the line will become stronger and more resilient in terms of physical fitness when they are taught the basics early on.
In an interview with CSM Joshua R. Bitle, the Commandant of the U.S. Army Drill Sergeant Academy, he explained the importance of the POSE running class the Drill Sergeant Candidates went through last week.
“We have identified a skill gap in today’s American Soldier: they don’t know how to run well [and] they injure themselves at a tremendous rate. These Drill Sergeant Candidates are now going to have the skills to teach their Soldiers how to run appropriately. Not only will they help the younger Soldiers, but it will also help extend their [own] military careers… This is an investment in them upfront.”
